I had an amazing experience at Casa Borinqueña I just moved to the area and wanted a quick bite to it I didn’t think I’d stumble across such a hidden gem. Firstly I didn’t even know this was a vegan restaurant the food was soo good and flavorful I ate the entire thing! I ordered a sample platter and a pastallio and ... whew they were delicious. Being nearly a lifelong vegan, it was pure fantasy to imagine places like Casa Borinqueña back in the early 90’s, in the dawning of the vegan/plant based movement. What this establishment provides is a delectable window into the cuisine of Puerto Rico through a plant based ... lens… and the results are bombast & hearty dishes & appetizers. The atmosphere & genial attitude of the staff prime you for the high-prana food you’ll receive. We tried the relleno de papa, the pastelillo con impossible beef, the sampler beef pasteles con arroz/habichuelas, the alcapurria, the tres leches & had two kola champagnes. Absolutely love this place and their food. The service is so wonderful and they are so kind and caring. You have to get the tres leches cake. Their skewers/kebobs are sooooooo good like literally perfect. I absolutely love having a good place on Frankford ave that doesn't use any animal products.

Today I had a late lunch here at this wonderful establishment that has just opened up 2 months ago. I can not express enough just how incredible the food is at this restaurant. Price point, perfect, quality and taste of food exceptional! The crazy part is that it’s Spanish food that is all vegan!
